Welcome to my bookish blog!

Welcome to my blog! In this space, I intend on writing regularly about what I am currently reading, as well as discussing current trends in the book culture and literature world. I am a huge book nerd and film and TV show lover, so I will be using this space to talk about both. Through my academic career, I earned my B.A. in English and my M.A. in English Education, thus confirming my love of the written word and all things bookish.

Some of my favorite book series so far are: Harry Potter (a well-loved classic and my fall comfort read), the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld (a series that has stuck with me since middle school), and the Gone series by Michael Grant (my first introduction to sci-fi and dystopian.) These books, although all read in my youth, have continuously stuck with me as literature and facilitated my love for the genres I enjoy reading today.

As far as my reading tastes currently? They are quite eclectic, to say the least. I am what one may refer to as a mood reader, meaning that the book I feel like picking up next may all entirely depend on what I am feeling on a given day. My reading preferences also change depending on the season of the year we are in. Thus currently, as we are swiftly approaching autumn where I live, I am craving books with a darker atmosphere, spooky vibes, and even some hauntings. I have a few ideas for posts I will be making this autumn season, and I am entirely stoked for them.

Whether it be Young-Adult fiction, Romance, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or even the occasional Memoir and Non-fiction book thrown into the mix, I can assure you I will cover the bases in terms of analyzing literature and providing reading recommendations for all of you kind enough to read my blog. As I also mentioned, I will be adding in some posts on the other media I consume daily: movies and TV shows. I often lump these all in together, because they all consist of (hopefully well-done) story-lines and character development that I enjoy discussing.
